Wisdom Teeth & Oral Surgery

For a number of reasons, our doctors may determine an extraction is needed and will work with you to determine the best course of treatment. Wisdom teeth are the third molars in the mouth and usually appear either in a person's late teens or early twenties. In most cases, wisdom teeth do not have the space that they need to completely erupt, if they even erupt at all. Whenever wisdom teeth do not erupt properly, it is called impaction. You might experience oral problems if your wisdom tooth does not have the proper amount of space to break through. Either that or it might come through in the wrong part of your jaw.

Our Warsaw dentists can perform an extraction if the entire tooth needs to be removed. Oral surgery is sometimes necessary in the event that one of the main teeth is preventing eruption, there is gum disease, there is tooth decay, or there is irreparable trauma. Depending on the patient's circumstances, the extraction can be completed either surgically or non-surgically. You might also be given a mild anesthesia to keep you comfortable.
